HARD FACTS ABOUT CAMEROON Imagine! Imagine Cameroon 32 years ago under the leadership of! Imagine that!!!, • 32 years ago Cameroon had 7 plans (CAMAIR) with domestic organized air flights, but today we cannot boost of a fly. At that time Kenya Airway and Ethiopian airline where not in existence but today they champion the Skies Africa. • 32 years ago Cameroon had 5 shipping liners (Camazobe, Cambobenga, Cameroko, V-ship and Ocean Night) and today we cannot boost of a Cano. • 32 years ago Cameroon had good road network connecting cities and town from; Yaoundé -Baffousam- Bamenda,- Daoula, Limbe- idenue to and fro. Today the roads are dilapidated and unmaintained and very narrow for the present traffic which has increased 22 times of the present traffic volume. • 32 years ago the highest trucks using these roads were dump trucks of 12 Tons, but today the same roads are carrying dump trucks and thrillers of over 40 and 60tons with traffic that is 22 times the volume of traffic 32 years ago. Consequently, increase road accidents and deaths due to gross negligent of the regime in place. • 32 years ago Cameroon had some many para-public enterprises, like SNEC and SONEL that have been sold to private individuals who are cutting down manpower, reducing workers benefit and compensations, and determine the salaries scale of workers by discretion. Thus, increasing unemployment, household rations is no exemption. This is a system that is indirectly causing unemployment and pretending to create jobs. SNEC was sold to a Moroccan company and SONEL to an American company. Take a look at morocco 32 Years ago not to talk about Equatorial Guinea who have benefited from hand-down stuffs from Cameroon during that era. • 32 year ago Cameroonians were not excited to travel out to any country (Equatorial Guinea, China, Dubai, Quarter, France to name a few) for greener pastures because Cameroon was green. The irony is that VISA was free. Today Cameroonians are being repatriated and kick-out from these countries and the VISA policies are very rigid. • 32 years ago regime have not being able to give a clear account of it resources like mining and petroleum which is being exploited to it citizen and the Incomes are not properly accounted for and does not reflex in the budget. • 32 years ago these structure where in place, The presidency, Palair de congre , P&T, Finance, Public Service and Education, ENAM, Yaoundé 1 University, Douala International airport and you name it. These are clear indicators for an emerging Cameroon. How can Cameroonian buy the vision of an emerging Cameroon in 2035? When going at the same past we started 32 years ago we would have been an emerged Country. • 32 years ago Cameroon ministers where accountable for all expenses and development plans. But today, they embezzle their budgets and chop it with little work done and get away with it. This is confirmed by the end of year president’s speech 2013 when he said and I quote “Not up to 40 percent of the investment projects have been realized.” • 32 years ago in Cameroon businessmen were the richest people but to today civil servants are richer than businessmen. This can be proven by the type and numbers of cars they have, buildings they own and public contracts they give out and at the same won with a different name. • A country were civilians enter in to the military camps and buy petrol from the military reserve for their commercial transportation. • Somebody above 60 years of age who have witness the era of the Alhijo and the present regime and can attest to the above hard- facts, you see him/her singing the ooyee-yee-yee song behind a particular political party. This is more than killing. • When selling the concept of Emerging Cameroon by 2035 and as dull as some of us, we buy it with motions of support. You think we are very stupid enough not to think that by 2035 these folks will still be alive and rolling? 2035 is an escapee idea; they are just paving the way to escape from the disaster that they have created so that the common man will not hold them accountable for their enslavement. 2035 is 21 years as from 2014.
