HE IS ABLE Heb 7:19-25 This expression is used much, but believed little.... I. HE IS ABLE TO SAVE....Heb 7:25 Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. A. The religious like Nicodemas....John 3 B. The ruined like the woman.... John 4 C. The rebellious like the son....Luke 15 II. HE IS ABLE TO SUSTAIN.... A. To keep us from falling....Jude 24 Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, B. To keep us from failing....Phil 4:13 Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. C. To keep us from fainting....Luke 18:1 III. HE IS ABLE TO STRENGTHEN....Heb 2:18 Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. A. HE IS ABLE TO SERVE....Eph 3:20 Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, A. Able to do.... B. Able to do exceedingly.... C. Able to do exceedingly abundantly.... D. Able to do exceedingly abundantly above.... E. Able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think. VI. HE IS ABLE TO SECURE....II Tim. 1:12 II Tim 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Notice there is a: A. Positive Expression....! Know B. Past Experience....! have believed C. Present Expectation....! am persuaded D. Personal Exchange....! have committed What a joy is these days of uncertainty just to know that OUR GOD IS ABLE....!
