HE WAS CRUCIFIED FOR YOUR SALVATION Motivated by His infinite love toward mankind, whom He created in His own Image, the Lord God sent His Son into the world to redeem us out of the bondage and the penalty of our sins. Hence, the Bibles assertion: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16). Indeed, because the entire human race, in Adam, chose to disobey God under the Divinely prescribed consequences of such disobedience, mankind is born in bondage to sin and lives under the threat of eternal torment in the Lake of Fire. To rescue mankind out of our helpless and deadly condition, the Divinely prescribed penalty (death) must be satisfied. Because the sins of mankind are infinite, and because the penalty is also infinite, only God can atone for the sins of mankind. Therefore, the Son of God came to us in Jesus Christ and offered His sinless body as the ransom, the atonement for sin. Consequently, any person who would sincerely call upon the Lord Jesus Christ for His personal salvation will be granted the forgiveness of his sins and the gift of eternal life, eternally living with the Lord Jesus. Muhammad, however, was influenced by his wife Khadijah and her uncle Waraqa Bin Nowfal. The two belonged to a Gnostic sect known as Docetics. This ancient cult of Christendom believed matter is inherently evil, and therefore believed that the pure Lord Jesus did not have a real physical body, but only that He appeared to have one. Therefore, it is possible and legitimate to interpret the Arabic Qur’an’s words in reference to ‘Issa, “he was a spirit and a word from Allah,” as an explicit denial of his physical nature. Wherefore, they asserted, that it was impossible for the Lord Jesus to be crucified. This idea, based in ideology and not in historical fact, found its way into the Arabic Quran where His crucifixion is denied on the grounds that it appeared to them that it was He whom they crucified. However, some scholars in Islamic Studies see a belief in His crucifixion to be found in the Arabic Qur’an. The use of the Arabic verb mutawafika (rather than tamutu) in Quranic passages such as 3:55; 4:158-159; 5:117 and 19:33 suggests that the author(s) of these Quranic passages believed that the Lord Jesus did not die of natural causes; but was killed. Indeed, Muhammad was poisoned and died three days later. But Muhammad died for his own sins and because of his own outrageous immoralities. He was a murderer from the beginning of his Islamic call. He was not killed as the atonement for the sins of mankind. Nevertheless, the Qur’an’s denial of the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus has no historical evidence to support it. To the contrary, the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ was predicted 24 times in the Old Testament, and is supported by the writings of eyewitnesses, Christians, Jews and Romans. However, the Lord Jesus Christ did not only die for our sins, but He also rose up bodily from among the dead for our justification: “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Cor. 15:3-4). Indeed, the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus from among the dead also was predicted in the Old Testament. Read Psalms 16:10; 49:15 and compare with Matthew 28:5-7 in the New Testament. He certainly was crucified for our salvation from sin and its penalties, and God says that this is a fact of first importance. The real choice, indeed, is between serving Satan (the Allah of the Quran) and serving the Creator (the God of the Bible). Satan has invented all the evil in the world, including immoral Islam and its falsehoods. The Lord God has created all that is good and righteous, including Biblical Christianity. Satan and his followers are the eternal losers, which eventually will be cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone. God and His followers are the eternal winners through Jesus Christ our Lord, who will dwell eternally in Heaven with God!!!! The God of the Bible, however, desires that all people of all backgrounds would come to the Lord Jesus for the salvation of their souls. You must come to Him of your own volition, without any form of coercion or compulsion. Pray and sign this prayer sincerely and earnestly, for the salvation of your soul: Lord Jesus Christ, I declare to You my personal rejection of Islam, its deity, its prophet, its Qur’ān and its immorality. I thank You for coming to earth and dying for my personal salvation. I sincerely confess to You my lost sinful condition, which calls for Your righteous judgment upon me. Often I have disobeyed Your Precious Word and frequently I have broken Your Perfect Laws. Helplessly, I am deeply enslaved to sin. Therefore, I know that I deserve Your just condemnation of me to everlasting punishment in the Lake of Fire. However, now and in this place, I come to You accepting Your death and resurrection on my behalf and for my benefit, as my own Substitute. I ask You, as You have promised in Your Infallible Word, to become my personal Savior and Lord of my lifestyle. I ask You to turn me away from my life of sin, enabling me to make generous restitution to all against whom I have sinned, forgiving all my sins, making me a new creature in Christ, giving me the new birth into the Family of God, and granting me eternal life. I also ask You to help me from now on to live the Christian life pleasing to You. I thank You for answering this my sincere and earnest prayer, by saving me at this moment and in this place. Amen.
