HELLO AGAIN PEEPS, PEEPETTES, SIGNIFICANT OTHERS, FRIENDS, MARBILLIANS, AND COUNTRYMEN! Just a quick thought this 4th of July....While I was riding through Doraville yesterday, through the old neighborhood, I was amazed at how small it looked. My house, at the dead end of Wilton Avenue, looked so small. The yard that used to seem to take forever to cut and rake, is really just a patch of ground. Of course, the mimosa tree that Mom planted when we was kids, has taken over the front yard. The dead end, (which is what it was called) where we played baseball seemed sad. My neighbors houses to either side seemed different, as did all of the neighborhood. (Burnettes, Womacks, Creels, Ogletrees, Crowes, Caldwells, Fowlers, Baldwins, Gilbreaths, Peaces, Cooks, and the list can go on and on) I even rode through Sequoyah Woods (those who know will remember) and retraced my old paper route. There was the Coffeys, the Phelps, Hagans, Devaneys, Middlemans, Drusts, Holsts, Tuttles, Cowans, and many more. My childhood girl crushes, Vicky Jacobs, Sherri Britt, Laura Dennis, The Middleman girls (They were and still are hot! lol) Becky Loose (the older woman, bethcha didnt know!!!!) My buddies Brad Hendricks, Steve Snider, James Creel, Mike Gilreath, the Tinsleys, Rick Willis, Chip Griffin, Denny Chupp (who I met up with yesterday), Frank Coffey, and so many others........ My sisters growing up, Jo Ellen, Nell Ann, Carolyn, and little sis Bonny.........I realize today that I was fortunate to live in an era, where we could grow up and be kids, and not worry about gang vilolence, or murder, or anything else, but just be kids. I am so thankful for the opportunity to live in America and so thankful that I was allowed to grow up in Doraville at just the right time. Roaming the roads with Bruce, Vince, Brian, Dale and the CB guys doing things that would scare us today. I am thankful to the men and women past and present who have served in our armed forces, for the sacrifices they make and made. Thank you to all Veterans and active personnel. To my public safety families across the land, have a blessed and wonderful fourth. And to all those whom I have mentioned above, if I forgot somebody, please excuse my 60 year old brain. Love you all!
