HES OUR COMMANDER IN OUR DARKEST HOURS IN COMBAT BEFORE... ITS OUR HONOR TO BE HIS MEN NOW IN HIS LIFES DARKEST HOUR,... As a young Lieutenant he serve 8 years in Jolo Sulu and Basilan as a Platoon Leader. He then lead our troops in campaigns and successful attacks of NPA camps in Romblon and Mindoro. As a Commanding General of 8TH Infantry ( STORM TROOPERS ) Division. General Jovito Salvaña Palparan, Jr. was the only General who successfully exterminate and reduced the presence of the New Peoples Army in Samar and claims that he could have eliminated the rebel presence completely if he had been given an extension of duty. As a General he then later became the Commanding General of the 7th Infantry ( KAUGNAY ) Division in Central Luzon. His last combat deployment was as a Commander of Selected Elite Filipino Soldiers who were the first batch of Philippine Contingent sent to Iraq during the Iraq War. He retied in a Major General Rank during his 56th Birthday on September 11, 2006. He end his Brave Military service to our country achieving these RARE Medals of Bravery and Valor in combat: 1.Distinguished Service Stars 2.Gold Cross Medals 3.Gawad sa Kaunlaran Medal 4.Bronze Cross Medals 5.Wounded Personnel Medals 6.Military Merit Medals 7.Campaign Medals 8. The most effective Commander in fighting the NPA Rebels mentioned by Pres. Arroyo. HIS GOOD SIDE MUST BE SHARED TOO!!!
