HI Guys!! I wanted to ask you all to cough up a little cash for a charity run that I will be taking part in on the 14/09 in Brighton. I had the pleasure of volunteering a couple of times a week with the organiser Mike a couple of years ago. The organisation isn’t just a soup kitchen. They provide so much more than just food. The volunteers cook and set up a dining experience for their clients across long tables and serves up a 3 course hot meal made up of food donated by local restaurants and grocers. They not only provide food but also a social environment to meet others in the same situation. For some of the clients, it literally is the only time they have to meet and socialise with other. Mike also arranges simple services and amenities to be available such as a hairdresser, clothing/bedding, housing advise and support, general life skills training and a substance abuse support service.
