HI everyone, this is more of a yard maintenance question. We get large round bales of haylage for our yard (they are wrapped and sealed) there are three horses on the yard and we could get about 4 bales at a time. But the problem we are having is when we open the bale and begin to use it once we cover it again (loosely) for the night to protect it from the rain, it starts to ferment and we loose at good portion of the bale because we cant feed it to the horses. Is there anything we can do? Like maybe no cover it? Or are we fighting a loosing battle. (no nasty comments please, just looking for advice, we are all just owners on a DIY yard). Thanks in advance.
