HISTORY HAS A WAY OF REPEATING ITSELF IN NIGERIA... I dont know why eyebrows were raised last week when $9.3 was discovered by some agents in South Africa as if it is alien to our country? If you left Nigeria 35 years ago and only returned recently, you would be surprised that the same issues are still being discussed: Electricity,insecurity,roads,water, corruption,impunity, etc. For instance Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, as d head of state fired (reinstated) resident doctors in 1984. And 30 years after, president Goodluck Jonathan fired (and reinstated) resident doctors over d same issues. $2.4b was stolen from PTF account under d leadership of Gen. Buhari by some unscrupulous elements in d 70s and now $20b grew wings and disappeared frm NNPC vaults under d present administration. The more things seem to change, d more they remain the same. As a student of democracy and development,i know we would get it right one day but permit me to say that the kind of Nigeria of our dream is not in sight yet. God bless my country Nigeria
