HITS Horse Shows in association with the Bardavon, is proud to announce legendary country group Charlie Daniels Band will perform a live concert immediately following the Zoetis $1 Million Grand Prix on Sunday, September 7. Coupled with exciting equestrian show jumping and delectable food tastings, the day will serve as the culmination of the 2014 HITS-on-the-Hudson horse show circuit in Saugerties, New York. Before Charlie Daniels Band takes the stage, spectators can watch the coveted final jewel of HITS Triple Crown of Show Jumping, the Zoetis $1 Million Grand Prix -- and cheer on their favorite equestrian stars as they battle it out for a piece of the richest purse in the world. The event will feature extraordinary competition and keep spectators on the edge of their seats as champions are made. From celebrated gospel albums to genre-defining Southern rock anthems and CMA Award-winning country hits, few artists have left their mark on America’s musical landscape like Charlie Daniels. Since 1972 the iconic country group has produced memorable hits including Uneasy Rider, Long Haired Country Boy, The South’s Gonna Do It Again and CMA Single of the Year, The Devil Went Down to Georgia.The band’s record catalog spans more than 50 years and over 20 million in sales. Daniels has received numerous accolades, including induction into the Grand Ole Opry and Musicians Hall of Fame. He’s been presented the Pioneer Award by the Academy of Country Music, honored as a BMI Icon for his songwriting and has a star on the Music City Walk of Fame. As a prelude to the concert, HITS will host the inaugural HITS Harvest Food Fest, highlighting the region’s top culinary purveyors in a celebratory outdoor setting. From crudités to cupcakes, attendees will have the opportunity to taste free samples from vendors, purchase menu specialties and support local Hudson Valley businesses.
