Para ser mais exato, John, com letra maiúscula, significa João; mas john, com letra minúscula, em inglês americano, john significa toalete, lavatório, banheiro ou cliente de prostituta. Exemplos: a) I’m just going to the john – can you wait for me? (Estou apenas indo ao banheiro – você pode me esperar?) b) Is there another john around here? (Há um outro banheiro por perto?) c) Police arrested some johns at the whorehouse. (A polícia prendeu alguns clientes de prostitutas no bordel.) d) She led the john into an alley where Lefty robbed him. (Ela levou o cliente para um beco onde Esquerdinha o roubou.) * John Wayne Toilet Paper Na década de 1950, surgiu nos E.U.A. o papel higiênico em homenagem ao ator de filmes de faroeste John Wayne. Na embalagem, vinha escrito John Wayne Toilet Paper.
