HOT ISSUES TODAY 1.President John Mahama issued a Septmber 2014 ultimatum, for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to complete the street naming and house numbering exercises in their areas by September this year. What are your Questions and thoughts on this Issue for the Hon.? 2.#Ghana President John Dramani Mahama, in his capacity as chairman of Ecowas, is embarking on a tour of the three West African countries worst hit by #Ebola. The Ghanaian president is expected to meet the leaders of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia during his one-day visit. They will discuss how the region can support the countries in their effort to contain and manage the Ebola outbreak. 3.A leading member of the New Pa­triotic Party (NPP) who sup­ports Alan for President 2016 campaign, Dr Richard Anane has dropped a bombshell that could be the source of friction between Nana Akufo-Addo and ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor. Speaking at the campaign launch of Alan John Kyerematen, Dr Anane al­leged that after NPP delegates elected John Agyekum Kufuor as their presiden­tial candidate in 1998, Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson, who was a leading member of Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign team at the time, and some others he did not mention schemed to have John Agyekum Kufuor dropped and replaced by their candidate. According to Dr Anane, Adjiri Blankson and some other members of Nana Addo’s campaign team who he did not mention prevailed on the late Bernard Joao Da Rocha, a.k.a. B.J. Da Rocha, and the then chairman of the NPP, Mr Samuel Odoi-Sykes, as well as other executives to drop John Agyekum Kufuor, the elected presidential candi­date, and replace him with their candi­date. 4.“If we [NPP] can’t beat them [NDC] by their criminal strategy of winning elections, then we will join them,” a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party and former KMA Boss has said. Maxwell Kofi Jumah believes it is time for the NPP leadership to learn how to rig elections rather than being open-minded. He claimed that the National Democratic Congress has always arranged the outcome of elections with a well-oiled election fraud machine. Adding that, “they have never truly won an election”.
