The Nigerian Tribune investigation show that the truce was realized after a marathon meeting between the acting governor and the Assembly members on march 6th 2014 when the Assembly members cautioned Umar to drop some members of the kitchen cabinets alleged to be misleading the acting governor on some sensitive state matters. At the said meeting which sources said lasted throughout the night of March 6th 2014, Umar promised to pay all the standing statuary allowances due to the law makers as well as change his style of leadership. On that meeting according to Nigerian Tribune source said the law makers few days ago had accused the state acting governor of monopolizing the activities of government, thereby bringing government to a halt. It was gathered that the Acting Governor and some members of his cabinet were not happy with the position of the 12 lawmakers as Umar was said to have made up his mind to contest for the Governorship of the state. According to sources, to enable him crown his ambition, acting Governor and these members of his cabinet were considering the option of impeaching the speaker, Hon. Josiah Sabo Kente who also hails from the Southern Zone of the state. It was gathered that the Acting Governor fears that the Speaker may prefer a candidate from the southern part of the state. But some lawmakers told Nigerian Tribune that they will resist any attempt by anybody to use them to create any crisis in the Assembly. All these angered the lawmakers who allegedly drafted 18 count charge impeachment article against the Acting Governor which was later dropped after the truce END
