HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW JSE JAMES? WELL HERE YOU GO! On April 7th 1988 Jessie James was born to his parents as the sixth of eight children in Camperdown, St. Catherine, Jamaica. He began singing at a very young age and soon entered the church choir. When Jessie was just a young boy, a stroke of faith hit when his mother died. Since her death, Jessie and his siblings were split up and brought up in different homes across Jamaica. While growing up without any immediate family around, the music gave Jessie the strength to continue his life on a positive path. Whenever he felt stressed or down he would sing to lift his spirit, or he would listen to the songs of Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Kenny Rogers, Sizzla, to name a few. As Jessie grew up he began working in various trades, but always continued on his musical path. In 2005 he tried his luck at “Rising Star”, a local talent show in Jamaica, and made it to the Top 10 in his parish, but did not make it to the national top rank. Nonetheless he continued making music and recorded songs in various studios such as Bessout Productions in St. Elizabeth and Hard Street Records in Montego Bay. At Hard Street Records he met a producer who featured him on one of his riddims, a selection which included some of the hottest artists in Montego Bay. Since then Jessie who is now known as Jse James, has been putting out various singles on record labels throughout Jamaica and has also been on riddim selections with well renowned artists such as Warrior King, Assassin, Sizzla, Fantan Mojah, Lutan Fyah, Tommy Lee Sparta and Masicka. Being a versatile singer, Jse James covers many genres like Reggae, Dancehall, Soul and RnB. In Autumn 2012 he released his EP “Flying Colours”. On the EP, Jse James gets to express his dancehall side, spiced up with some souls and RnB songs. The video for the EPs title song Flying Colours, was very well received on youtube. By the end of February 2013 Jse James released his first Mixtape called Life Journeys. It showcases a mix of urban music, also covering songs from Rihanna and Chris Brown, many original dancehall songs and a sensational Reggae-Dubstep tune called Roll it up. With this song he went on a short promo tour in Switzerland in August 2013. While in Switzerland Jse James has been busy with radio interviews, shows and ofcourse recording songs with Swiss producers such as Weedy G and Max RubaDub. While in Switzerland, Jse James collaborated with a local artist on the song “White Clouds”. In the meantime ‘Roll it up’ has received more and more radio play on renowned radio stations in Jamaica, such as Irie FM and Hitz92. Jse continued on the Reggae path with another reggae tune called “My Life”. Both My Life and Roll It Up have a music videos availble for viewing on youtube. By the end of 2013 both songs were being played in heavy rotation on Jamaican radio stations. In March of 2014, Jse James partnered up with Joleyne Jeffers aka DatGyal Sound out of St.Kitts and started their own record label J&J Records. Since the establishment of J&J Records, Jse has released three songs on the label Hurricane (a collaboration with Project Records in St.Kitts), Wine (Produced by Jse James), and My Poinciana (a collaboration with Soul Beats Records in the UK). In the Autumn of 2014, Jse travelled to New York and Miami and has since been working on his upcoming EP titled Final Breath set to be released in 2015. In December 2014, Jse also travelled to St.Kitts, were he collaborated with local artists and local record labels and recorded the song Nah Bruk released January 2015. While in St.Kitts, on January 3rd 2015, Jse did an interview with DJ Flames on St.Kitts Radio Station FreedomFM (106.5FM). Jse has made a name for himself in St.Kitts, with many DJs requesting dubplates of his songs. Jse is now back in New York City, and has been working very hard on his upcoming Final Breath EP.
