[HSL test] HSK stands for Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi which is a standardised international Chinese proficiency test for non-native speakers. HSK is the best way to get to know and test your Chinese level and also a key for applying an academic study in Chinese universities and/or companies. The Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK), (Chinese: 汉语水平考试), translated as Chinese Proficiency Test, or Chinese Standard Exam, is Chinas only standardized test of Standard Chinese language proficiency for non-native speakers such as foreign students, oversea Chinese, and members of ethnic minority groups in China. The test is administered by Hanban, a non-government organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the Peoples Republic of China. The current format was introduced in 2012, with a philosophy of testing comprehensive language and communication ability. Most notable is the inclusion of spoken and written segments at all levels (not just Advanced), reformation of the ranking system, and use of new question structures.
