HUNGRY FOR GOD? – How hungry are you towards the living God? How much do you desire to love and please him in all your ways. Starting from the break of each new day, what are those things that occupy your mind, heart and thoughts? How well do you remember God and His beloved Son who yielded his live a ransom for your soul? If you have no unique and wholesome response to all questions, you therefore need a rethink and thorough examination of your christian walk, style and spiritual commitment. You will find it difficult satisfying God if you are not genuinely in love with Him. One thing you will love to do for your body each time you are physically hungry is to feed correctly on a balance diet. So also, if there’s no quest for spiritual meal in you each day and moment that passed, it’s evident that you have little or no space for God and his love. Your prayer life will proof your hunger life, your praise and worship moments will show you love for this God, the way you share his love with dying souls will be a signal to all that you care for the things of God and your response to His call for partnership and work in His vineyard are evidences that you have God in your heart and that he dwells in you both in spirit and in truth. If you are truly hungry for things of God, you will desire to read, study and meditate on his words better than those worldly magazines, books and home video that only get you excited and never spiritually elevated. “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8). Every other earthly exercise have no eternal effect, until you concentrate on God and set your love on him you will find it difficult becoming His true friend. Check the state of your heart this morning and make all necessary moves towards getting him in seated in your heart and in all your ways. Pray with me: Father, create in me a new heart and set me on fire for your love. Don’t allow me to be earthly relevant but heavenly useless. Take my heart and make it yours eternally. I will obey and serve you without any reference for things of this world. You will forever be my God.
