Had a great time last week. Marcia and Ben came in from CA on Friday and Charlie and his family got here Sat AM. Two nice days together and Charlie and company headed home and the rest of us, including David from next door, were off to Emerald Isle. We got a cottage on the sound side and took the boat. The average depth of the water was 4 ft at high tide and it made it hard to navigate the water. Then came the rough water. Mahlon went out to check the boat on Thursday and found it swamped and sitting on the bottom. Miraculously, we got it started, bailed out, got it back to the landing and took it home. Ate wonderful fresh blue crab and shrimp and caught very few fish. Lots of fun in the waves and on the little boat in the sound. We dropped Marcia and Ben off at the airport on Saturday and called it a week. Overall, it was GREAT to have the kids around and spend some time around salt water. Very blessed.
