Had a great visit with the nurse at Gabriels allergist today. Hes - TopicsExpress

Had a great visit with the nurse at Gabriels allergist today. Hes been going to the same office for 7 years, and theyve watched him grow up. We go once a week for shots, and have developed quite the relationship with them after all these years. There is something so comforting about knowing the staff truly cares for Gabriel, and not only his health, but how if affects his quality of life. ON another note, October marked one year since we started allergy injections. We started in hopes that injecting a tiny amount of environmental allergens, increasing the dose every week, would eventually build tolerance to be able to take a maintenence dose that would prevent him from having such severe asthma and allergy attacks. Gabriel has gotten 2 injections a week, for 13 months now, nearly 112 shots (minus the weeks he was too ill to go in) 27 miles each way, for a total of 3,024 miles, with nearly 28 hours in the office, and 56 hours driving... But all wold be well worth is to be able to take a walk in the park, or maybe even be able to go to a pumpkin patch one day without getting dangerously ill. Today, 56 weeks later, we are still at the same does we started at, unable to build any tolerance to help him with the environment. Left wondering if we will ever be able to increase his dose without reaction or if this will never be a reality for us?
