Had a quick trip to Thompson Cancer Survival Center this afternoon. Ive passed out a couple of times over the past few days. In one incident, I managed to strike every chair in the dining area, the wall, and a few other sharp objects on the way down. Not sure if my wife is worried about me breaking anything between my head and the floor. A check showed some low blood pressure issues...and dehydration. I thought losing around 20 pounds was a good thing--that is, until the good practitioners informed me they are a cancer treatment facility, and -not- a weight loss center, and they did not expect any weight loss. Chemo nausea feels different than the normal sick stomach. Its a kind of wooziness that silently says Ive moved in here, and I like it. After some fluids infused through my port (a handy device that I thought I would loathe),,, I was turned loose to return to the herd and had orders to drink more fluids, including water, and try to eat a bit more, maybe a little at a time. Son Jon brought lunch today..and it was delicious Japanese cuisine. Bethany met me at Thompson to make sure notes were taken so I would follow the doctors orders. And before I got home, Julie called from work to check on me. I love my family dearly, unconditionally, and eternally. And that, is really good medicine.
