Had an odd but prophetic dream last night. Im homeless with a friend and we come across this empty house thats been abandoned. We go in and find a mattress. The water and electricity work. The house, besides being almost empty, is pretty clean. Theres even a boom box for music. So, I get into the shower and clean off while my friend lays on the bed, listening to the radio. All of a sudden, my dream switches to a scene at some police station where they can see that the electricity is being used at the abandoned house. They send cops out to the house to investigate. Well, on my way out of the bathroom, I hear someone screaming from outside, You know youre not supposed to be in there. Its not your house. Come out! Then we both start singing, to the tune of some country song on the radio, Housing is a human right! The cops respond by singing, to the same tune, about how we didnt pay for the house and that we didnt deserve to be in there because it wasnt our property. We responded by singing about how housing was a human right and that nobody deserved to be without a roof over their heads. Then I woke up. Im not an activist...Nah. I dont care about capitalism insistence that people pay money for everything they own or use. Nah! Not me!
