Had the pleasure of attending the City of Green and the Green Historical Societys recognition of the 200th anniversary of Merestead Farms, owned by my friends, John and Lee Beese. The Beese family bought the property in 1914 and continue to work the farm and care for the property to this day. Three generations of Beeses still live there. 1) Beautiful cake of the Merestead Farm by the West Side Bakery, 2) John Beese presenting the history of the farm and the Abraham Foust Homestead which preceded the Beese family ownership, 3) Sheriff Steve Barry presenting the always elegant Lee Beese with a special proclamation from the Summit County Sheriffs Office.
