Had to share this again, to remind you all what we are doing to some breeds partly and to give everyone a wake-up call.. A very powerful video, and says everything I would like to say and do say time to time..! There are still some who breed these breeds to look like they should, like they used to look, or at least strive to make the breed look like they did in the first place. But these breeders are in some breeds greatly outnumbered by those who breed only to win shows, to breed the dogs to look like some judges think they should look like by their own opinion, without thinking of the breed standard, or breed the dogs to look like they think it should look. Some overlook the best of the breed, the healthy temper and the diseases, just to get the result they think is pretty, or the judges think is pretty. Like the video says, the judges compare the dogs too much to each other, and too little to the breed standard. This has to stop. Or we need more breeders who dare to breed healthy type of dogs without giving too much thought of how well the certain individuals they use have performed in shows..! youtu.be/Hex00WjSobE
