#Haitis former Minister of Health, Dr. Florence #Duperval #Guillaume, was declared the countrys new Prime Minister on Sunday December 21, 2014. She is replacing Laurent Salvador #Lamothe. Mr. Lamothe resigned on December 13 under a cloud that includes accusations of #corruption. So great is his disdain for the parliament and rule of law that he has yet to tend his letter of resignation to the Parliament! Ms. Duperval Guillaume is thought to be close to Sophia #Martelly (wife of Michel Martelly), who is also accused of usurpation of titles and money laundering. This move is regarded as being an attempt to save Martellys presidency. Several additional political prisoners have yet to be released.
