In 2009 Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn wrote this passionate call to arms book raising awareness of female empowerment and just how important this issue is. In 2012 the film was released. Shot in 10 countries, this documentary aims to not only to turn oppression into opportunity but manages to provide action steps to make it attainable. I highly recommend taking a moment and looking this over. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.
