Halloween,All Souls Day, All Saints Day &Day of the Dead is time of the year that my most deepest question about life is the loudest in the silence. My father Duncan died when I was 9, my grandfather Antosan my fathers father died the following summer, my mothers dad Ante the same year. My step grandmother Anuka died when I was 16, my mother Ana when I was 30, my friend Pauline when I was 33 and my sister Zora when I was 35. Gabrielle Roth when I was 42. In Croatia we stay with our dead through the night before the funeral. Death has been my greatest teacher in this life. Each time the razor sharp sword of truth cut through my heart wide open to allow the winds of mystery to blow through freely. I do not know many answers but as I get older lighting the candle and honoring the beloved ones are that are no longer here in physical world. This extended conversation with the unseen is for me the most precious gift to behold. I am so grateful that in my life I have experienced & learned to stay with pain and deep grief. In this deep trust and surrender I was brought to my knees at the gates of great mystery. Such deep love and passion for life comes because of this humility that I to one day will be no longer here. How deeply I love these people, these memories in my soul. Nx
