Hank and 11 dogs are headed for Braeburn the last checkpoint in the Yukon Quest. It is about a 77 mile run on another cold night but I dont think quite as cold as last night. Last night when Hank caught up to Brian camping on the trail his thermometer was reading -53, yikes!!! He came in with frost bite on his nose and fingers. Hank got about 2 hours sleep here and 2 wonderful meals provided by volunteers and the dogs a good 6 sleep after they ate twice and chores were done. Look for Hank to camp part way for a bit as he took a bag of straw with him for the dogs. Maverick & Charlie left in lead on a clear beautiful night with almost a full moon shining overhead, but Scully was told she was coming up to lead after their first snack :) Ward, Barb & I will stay here for the night before heading to Braeburn (which is just a restaurant) in the morning.
