Happiness is a choice!! Happiness is a choice. And it is a choice you can make regardless of circumstance or condition. It may seem like there are certain things, or people, or circumstances that make you happy. Yet what really makes you happy is nothing more than your choice to be happy in the presence of those certain conditions. Happiness is a choice, and you can choose it much more often. When you do, you empower yourself with a positive perspective that remarkably improves your world. If you assume that you must first have this thing or that situation to be happy, you have it precisely backwards. Happiness is a cause of the good things in life, not a result. The more often you choose happiness, the better you become at doing so. The more you choose happiness, the more you understand and appreciate the value it adds to your life. Instead of getting dejected, frustrated, angry, envious or spiteful, choose happiness. Youll quickly discover it’s always appropriate, and enables you to bring great new positive value wherever you go. How peaceful am I at this moment? 14 Nov, 2014 The greatest virtue is peace. Throughout the day, stop for a minute and ask yourself ‘How peaceful am I at this moment?’ If someone tries to make you peaceless, you mustnt allow yourself to be peaceless, no. Instead, look for the virtues in everyone and pass these on to others. Remain very sweet and peaceful. Psalm 119:143 143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights. You are right and you do right, God; your decisions are right on target. You rightly instruct us in how to live ever faithful to you. My rivals nearly did me in, they persistently ignored your commandments. Your promise has been tested through and through, and I, your servant, love it dearly. Im too young to be important, but I dont forget what you tell me. Your righteousness is eternally right, your revelation is the only truth. Even though troubles came down on me hard, your commands always gave me delight. The way you tell me to live is always right;help me understand it so I can live to the fullest. Thoughts on Todays Verse... This verse is hard for me, because I know I am so blessed. Trouble and distress do not seem to be a part of my vocabulary right now. But I know in many places in the world this statement is true of Christians who are under attack and live under the threat of persecution and possibly even death. But their love for God and their commitment to obedience is greater than Satans threats because Gods will is their delight. Luke 15:17-19 7 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. “That brought him to his senses. He said, ‘All those farmhands working for my father sit down to three meals a day, and here I am starving to death. Im going back to my father. Ill say to him, Father, Ive sinned against God, Ive sinned before you; I dont deserve to be called your son. Take me on as a hired hand.’ He got right up and went home to his father. Today’s commentary Trying to control behavior cant change the heart; a person must come to their senses before they will come back to their Heavenly Father. This is noteworthy because many people have been hurt by well meaning efforts to bring people to faith in Christ, but Jesus tells us that sometimes the wayward person needs to come to the end of their rope to realize their need for God. Once that happens they are willing to do anything to be reconciled. Hebrews 3:4 4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. The Centerpiece of All We Believe So, my dear Christian friends, companions in following this call to the heights, take a good hard look at Jesus. He’s the centerpiece of everything we believe, faithful in everything God gave him to do. Moses was also faithful, but Jesus gets far more honor. A builder is more valuable than a building any day. Every house has a builder, but the Builder behind them all is God. Moses did a good job in God’s house, but it was all servant work, getting things ready for what was to come. Christ as Son is in charge of the house. Love, Debbie
