Happy 22nd Birthday Jenny!!! This is the 2nd birthday celebrating without you. I have to be honest and say that the sadness has not gone away. We still miss you so very much!! That happy spirit, that beautiful smile, those mighty hugs. But we continue to celebrate your special day because you are still a big part of our lives and always will be. So your Dad bought some beautiful pink carnations in honor of your special day. He always loved to bring you flowers!! And we released balloons into the sunset sky: a heart and a star. The heart because we love you so very much and because you LOVED hearts. I find them all around the house: in your journals, on your computer, your Christmas ornaments, the many crafts you made for me through the years, your earrings, etc. And I will always remember the heart shape you would make with your hands when you would say goodbye to me. Your way of saying, I love you. The star balloon was to remind you that we love you more than all the stars in the sky. We used to say that to you all the time!! I hope God allowed you to see the balloons from heaven. And then I made your favorite Birthday Dinner: Chicken Marsala!! Dad and I enjoyed it together but it would have been so much better if you were sitting in your place at the head of the table enjoying it with us! I would have made you a pink birthday cake too. But we know that you are in heaven and your reality is more real than ours. You are perfectly at peace and happy. You possess what we still yearn for. Your striving and struggles are over. You await our arrival one day! I cant wait to see that beautiful smile again and get one of those mighty hugs!! What a day that will be!! So today, as we celebrate YOU, we are thankful for 20+ years of love and give thanks that we were chosen to be your parents. You blessed us more than you will ever know.
