Happy 4th of July--at least we still have our freedom of choice and open debates (until we are told to shut-up or someone comes to lock you up!) Devo: Freedom of Choice In ancient Rome There was a poem About a dog Who found two bones He picked at one He licked the other He went in circles He dropped dead Freedom of choice Is what you got Freedom of choice! With the current forms of Government Managed Healthcare Program being the colossal the SNAFU called the VA and the bastard Government babies known as Medicare and Medicaid (mismanaged, going broke, political BS, and worse of all--not servicing their clients)...anyone else worried about what our MANDATED government healthcare program is going to look like in a few years? (Perspective: in my professional work, the world of projects, a step forward into the unknown is not considered a productive step, as you have no knowledge of the repercussions of taking that step, so this is called Blind Risk--say FORWARD all you want, but you are not assured you actually are or did move forward, you could have easily just moved backwards 3 steps--you dont know. Conversely, a step directly into a risky situation would normally be avoided as this is an Avoidable Risk (the above are prime examples of this), and add in the Unknown Risk (where you can add in things like life expectancies are now shorter for our children and what that will do to insurance actuarial table--which in return effects the rates everyone would pay--oh, and this is not good for premium calculations) this does make me pause for some consideration--but then again, seeing how their last project went through in launching their next Cluster, so no more surprises right?) Please note--I did NOT use the term for the ACA...you can only ink what some idiots will put in front of you, could have vetoed, but thats a different discussion for a different day. In short--in the desire for change, we got sold a bill of goods that would be hard for anyone to buy--if you actually considered what you were buying into. VIVA LA FREEDOM!
