Happy Birthday to Rupert Julian, silent film actor and director whos best know for directing what I consider Lon Chaneys greatest film, The Phantom of the Opera! One thing thats funny about their working relationship is that they both had a great loathing of each other! While he didnt stay with the Phantom of the Opera all the way through, eventually being replaced by Edward Sedgwick, and a few others, he should still be given credit for helming and helping to get this film off the ground! Cause without it, we wouldnt have arguably Chaneys most iconic role. Check out the film below to see probably his greatest achievement to celluloid ever! Happy B-Day Rupert!
