Happy Birthday today (Oct. 1) to Canadian guitarist Brian Greenway; he joined April Wine in 1977, giving them a powerful three guitar attack that would become synonymous with their hard rock sound on such hit albums as First Glance (1978), Harder...Faster (1979), The Nature of the Beast (1981) & Power Play (1982); after the band broke up in 1986, Brian launched a solo career, recording the album Serious Business which continued the traditional April Wine mix of heavy rockers & ballads; he rejoined when the band reformed in 1992 & has continued with them to the present day; in 2010, April Wine was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame; prior to April Wine, Brian had played in the 70s with a revived Mashmakhan (post their 1970 Canada #1 & US #31 As Tears Go By) & The Dudes (with Bob Segarini); in 1991, In 1991, he hosted his own hour-long Canadian TV special, Brian Greenway & Friends…
