Happy Flower Friday! Turn up the speakers on your computer for this one. One of the gumbo limbo trees (Bursera simaruba) outside the Kapnick Education & Research Center at the Garden is full of flowers. While the small greenish gumbo limbo flowers are attractive en masse, the video here provides a nice reminder of how plants can engage the senses beyond sight - just listen to those bees! Since a number of birds feed on gumbo limbo fruits, its exciting to think about what wildlife well see next in this tree! (Be sure to turn down your speakers after playing the video!)
