Happy Holie to all our Sad Hindu Friends: Alas, the Jinnahs promised secular, progressive and democratic Pakistan is once again under attack in Larkana and the adjoining towns of an otherwise historically peaceable and syncretic Sindh . At this moment the Hindu citizens are fearing for their lives instead of celebrating Holie as their temples and lives are threatened by a wave of violence raised by the self-styled soldiers of Islam. Of course, these obscurantists will justify the attacks on the Temples and lives of innocent people on the easy excuse of blasphemy/desecration of holy Scripture, but they must remember that if at all some lunatic individual has committed such dastardly act, then let the courts of law decide his fate in accordance with law. By no means the mobbish and vigilante justice should be allowed to punishthe whole communities of people. Neither the religion and nor the law permits it. Therefore, let the actions of these so-called custodians of religion be condemned all-round by all and sundry, if a semblance of civility and tolerance is to be protected in this already violent, schismatic and besieged state and society. I wish all our Hindu friends a very happy Holie, let the colors of spring and bonhomie spread all over and airbrush the gory horizon bloodied by the warmonger, sectarian, dogmatic and fratricidal forces!
