Happy Independence Day! On the nations birthday, 5 things I love about America. 1. Freedom - not just from government constraints but also the freedom to be different. (We could always use more. Lets work on that.) 2. Geographic diversity - Mountains, oceans, deserts, rainforest, plains... you name it, we have it! 3. Gumption - were descended from adventurers, pioneers, risk takers & survivors. Were a hardy lot and tough times make us more creative, inventive and diligent in our pursuits. 4. Highways - we may have challenges with repairing them, but our highway system is AWESOME! So great in fact, people devote their retirements to them (RV, anyone?) and song-writers devote their talents to our love of driving. 5. Americans. City people. Country people. Straight. Gay. Fat. Thin. Funny. Serious. Preppies and hipsters. Rich. Poor. African- Mexican- Asian- American. Those descended from Puritans & People whove just become Americans (note, the servicemen & women becoming naturalized citizens today - though theyre already serving this country.) I love my fellow Americans. Happy 4th.
