Happy Sunday everyone, hope youre staying warm if you live in cold country like me! Best time to let the creativity flow...all nestled inside warm & toasty & hooking, stitching, punching or whatever suits your fancy! Love days like this! Here are a couple photos I thought Id post of my hooked 3-D mitten I made & put out this year at Christmas time & am keeping up throughout the winter months. This (too) is an older pattern design from Kindred Spirits in their book called {Kindred Christmas by Kindred Spirits}. The front of the mitten has a wool appliqued strip & heart (inset & stuffed slightly underneath both pieces) and then are whip-stitched down to the rug foundation; I then hooked all around these 2 pieces on the cuff and the mitten! I backed my mitten in old blue jeans I store away to cut up for use in backings, & patchwork quilts, etc. and lined the inside of the blue jeans only with a cotton snowmen fabric. The old blue jeans were a perfect color match for my *Old Denim Blue* wool that I hand-dyed. Then I had fun inserting faux greenery, a striped candy cane & 2 long cinnamon sticks that I glued (gold & silver tin can cut- out stars) to each...on the ends. I added a twisted wire hanger that I poked thru each corner of the mitten & hung it up inside a grapevine wreath I made and strung both over my (wrought iron) 2-arm candle holder with 2 faux prim candles lit. This is now another of my favorite hooked little pieces to put out on display at Christmas & throughout our long winters here in New England! Hope youll be inspired! ~ Diane (Wool-N-Wares) #woolnwares #eBayWoolNWares #kindredchristmas #kindredspirits #hookedmitten
