Happy Sunday, its a beautiful day to believe in GodFruits, Campbell Biology, and understanding that these arent Mutually-exclusive Endeavor Brasil. We can help people with life, and love, just as we learn in a very dated religion Zoroastrianism which revolves around three basic tenets - Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds. Today I will discuss nutrition, specifically every admitted use of the word Glucagon in my favorite new book: page 982 - Insulin and glucagon: control of blood glucose In humans, metabolic balance depends on a blood glucose concentration of 70-110 mg/110 mL. Because concentrations is a major fuel for cellular respiration and a key source of carbon skeletons for biosynthesis, maintaining blood glucose concentrations near this normal range is critical. Two Antagonistic (opposing hormones), insulin and glucagon, regulate the concentration of glucose in the blood. Each of these hormones operates in a simple Endocrine system pathway regulated by Negative feedback. When blood glucose rises above normal range, release of Insulin triggers uptake of glucose from the blood into body cells, decreasing the blood glucose concentration. THE REAL FACT HERE: When blood glucose drops below the normal range, Glucagon promotes the release of glucose into the blood from energy stores such as liver glycogen, increasing the blood glucose concentration. Because insulin and glucagon have opposing effects, the combined activity of these two hormones tightly controls the concentration of glucose in the blood.
