Happy Thursday friends! I just wanted to give everyone a follow-up this past contest which most of you know about. I won’t go into specifics, but I was given the opportunity to have an extra day of voting on Wednesday due to a glitch with the contest and the result being ‘very’ close. They had done this out of the spirit of fairness, as they felt that I could have possibly gathered more votes during the short glitch, which was a big probability due to the massive surge in late night votes I was getting. After briefly weighing all the variables, I politely decided against the contest extension. After a few more e-mail exchanges, GranFondo Whistler was so impressed with my “sportsmanship, graciousness, and overall enthusiasm for cycling”, that they generously offered me an amount to go towards the purchase of a new bike, and also would contribute $250 to the charity of my choice! (The 2015 Ride to Conquer Cancer, benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation, of course!) I was originally happy to have all of your support, and counted it as a win in my books, but this was completely unexpected! I wanted to share this victory with all of my friends and supporters! Sometimes we do things in life that we regret, but if we do what we know is right and fair while maintaining a positive attitude about it, then we can only feel good about doing it in the end, which is its own reward! ...But every once in a while, you get lucky and get a little something extra in return! So a big thank you to GranFondo Whistler/Canada, but most of all, to all my friends and family... THANK YOU!!!! :D M.A.R.C.
