Happy Wednesday people! It is a nice brisk but sunny day and I love the weather. I didnt write on my page yesterday, the past week has been a bit overwhelming. I have been so concerned about loved ones in the typhoon disaster and I still pray for Gods comfort for those poor people. I pray for them to receive food and water and medical supplies soon. My thoughts and prayers are for the people who are concerned about all the new rules and regulations about their insurance and health care. With Veterans day just behind us, my mind was on all the forgotten and homeless vets that fought for their country..who are neglected by their own country and government. The celebrated holidays are comning up and many will go without a Thanksgiving meal as we all know it, and as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, most wont even let Him cross their mind. My heart goes out to the needy, neglected, abused and to the elsderly in general. I just learned today that a very dear neighbor had to be put in the nursing home. His family has taken care of him for several years and I know it was heart breaking for them, they are a very dedicated, close family. I thank God we have nursing homes, shelters and institutons..I have worked in a facility before and I know how some of the residents feel a little hopeless after having been put there. It is not that the place is a bad place, but as the old saying goes..theres no place like home. I am going to share a poem I wrote years ago...it seems kind of fitting for this post. Forgotten faces I visited a nursing home today, it saddened my heart, I must say. So many folks with no smile on their face , I had to wonder what they thought of this place. I spoke to a lady in a wheelchair, said I am so lonely, so glad you are here. I glanced at an old man with an aged photo book and I asked if hed mind if I took a look. He showed me his son, daughter and such, explained how he missed them, they dont come around much. I thought to myself, Lord how can this be? Are these old folks forgotten by their own families? I guess the expression on my face was quite clear cause an elderly man by my side soon appeared. He said now, now, this place aint so bad, my dear, the bad thing is others forget we are here. the end The world is full of people who are desperate, in need, lonely , hurting, hungry and friendless. I hope I can make just one person smile today or help them in some small way. God knows all of our needs and He loves us and will never forsake us......wish we could say the same thing for the human race, dont you? Revelation 21-4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying..there will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
