Happy to report that last nights Col River Treaty forum in Castlegar was jam-packed and, in my opinion, well run. And that the Local Govt Committee leader Deb Kozak -- a Nelson City Councillor -- is truly optimistic that our Provincial govt will follow through on their input into Treaty renegotiations. Our Mayor and one of our councillors was there, as was past mayor Audrey Moore. I cringed for a moment when Deb Kozak responded to a question from this our grand dame -- who unbeknown to Deb was so involved in Treaty matters and CBT formation during her time in office -- that there are maps in the back that she could look at if that would help her to understand better. But Audrey, true to her stately style, just graciously brushed that off with Im aware of that and continued with her question.
