Harold Box Office Picks ================= My last weekend - TopicsExpress

Harold Box Office Picks ================= My last weekend predictions were off by a margin 1/4. “Transcendence” did not do well in the theaters. For some reason people just were not to excited about it. I’ll see if soon, but for now “Captain America....” stay at #1 and “Heaven is for Real” is a surprise as “RIO” holds a space in top 3. “Captain America” is pulling $600 million worlwide and thats real good so far, I can see it hit a billion in another month. “Heaven is for Real” is hitting big. At a 12 million budget, its already hit 3 times its mark and will continue. “Rio 2” on the other hand is almost at $300 million worldwide and its amazing how animations are doing this year. “Divergent” is at 7th place and only at $200 Million worldwide, “Noah” is at $300 million worldwide at 9th place and “Grand Budaphest Hotel” hit 12th but also has made over $100 worlwide. Not bad as it shows that it is successful in its marketing strategy. “Mr Peobody..” has hit 15th and has covered its budget but now still building to cover marketing but its doing well. “The lego Movie” has done well with $400 million worldwide. “Non Stop” is almost at $200 million worldwide so its covered its budget. The phase of time really does show the pattern of success for even medium quality films. Atleast they are sustaining. But “Captain America” is diffinently holding strong and fastly rising to #1 for 2014, but worldwide its #1. Name Wknd Gross Theaters Per theater Total Budget 1)Captain America: The Winter Soldier $25,587,056 3,825 $6,689 $200,501,510 $170 2)Heaven is for Real $22,522,221 2,417 $9,318 $29,556,414 $12 3)Rio 2 $22,159,742 3,975 $5,575 $75,045,122 $103 4)Transcendence $10,886,386 3,455 $3,151 $10,886,386 $100 5)A Haunted House 2 $8,843,875 2,310 $3,829 $8,843,875 $4 6)Draft Day $5,713,076 2,781 2,054 $19,360,863 7)Divergent $5,611,624 2,486 $2,257 $133,776,491 $85 8)Oculus $5,156,880 2,648 $1,947 $21,146,271 $5 9)Noah $5,003,303 2,537 $1,972 $93,277,129 $125 10)Bears $4,776,267 1,720 $2,777 $4,776,267 11)Gods Not Dead $4,646,762 1,796 $2,587 $48,172,075 12)The Grand Budapest Hotel $3,415,528 1,280 $2,668 $44,964,929 13)2 States $1,073,898 135 $7,955 $1,073,898 14)Muppets Most Wanted $1,057,265 929 $1,138 $48,307,818 $50 15)Mr. Peabody & Sherman $788,223 780 $1,011 $107,164,804 $145 16)Under the Skin (2014) $467,000 176 $2,653 $1,086,000 17)The LEGO Movie $399,466 340 $1,175 $252,259,056 $60 18)Non-Stop $379,270 360 $1,054 $90,147,130 $50 19)The Raid 2 $363,672 539 $675 $2,219,261 20)The Lunchbox $349,663 158 $2,213 $2,220,609 So now for this week. We got: April 25 Theaters Brick Mansions 2,647 The Other Woman 3,204 The Quiet Ones 2,027 Locke Limited “Brick Mansions” is the one I want to see, sadly it has Paul walker who died this summer from a car accident but it shows that in films great actors live on. They are eternal and his humanitarian work will always inspire me to work with good down to earth actors. Besides him its a remake of French Parkour movie of David Belle original “District 13”. This movie will do will as many fans of Paul will go see it. Directed by Camille Delamarre, who directed “Taken 2, Transporter” and other action films. “Other Woman” staring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton looks like it will do well. Its already made $5 million worldwide before it hits domestically. Its budget is low so its profit margin should be high. Directed by Nick Cassavetes who did “Alpha Dog and Faceoff”. Quiet Ones, a horror film starring Jared Harris, Sam Claflin, Olivia Cooke is another film I won’t see but the storyline sounds like I would see on TV. Directed by John Pogue is genre is mainly horror. “Locke” is foreign limited release and just now being shared in USA and its a story about a man that goes thru changes in his life while driving around? Interesting, I think I would get bored but if the dialogue is good I may not. So what are my 3 picks for the weekend.??????
