Harry moved to New Delhi from a suburban part of the country. As soon as he set his foot in the city he came across a girl and eventually fell in love with her. One fine day he found the girl dead in her own flat. Police found out that she was stabbed by someone with a knife. But they couldnt find any finger prints on it or any lead to solve the case. After a couple of days harry was found dead and he too was stabbed by someone with a knife. At first they thought it was a suicide but the police were horrified on finding the dead girl’s (Harry’s late love interest) finger prints on the knife with which harry was stabbed. Episode - 1 .................... Monday, 09:30 pm Harry and the girl were in a hotel. Harry invited her to dinner. They had a very good time and then suddenly Harry got a phone call and had to leave. The girl got upset. She called Harry several times but he didnt pick up the phone. After sometime Harry called the girl and explained why he had to leave all of a sudden. The girl understood the situation. Tuesday She was found dead in her flat. The police, upon investigation came to know about Harry. He was questioned and he told them about everything from the beginning till he got a call from his close friend (Samar) who visited New Delhi all of a sudden. The police asked him to leave and kept him under observation. The police confiscated every possible thing of suspicion from the girl’s flat. Harry, in his flat was crying like hell and Samar who is beside him is consoling him. After sometime Harry got a call from the police saying that the last call made by her was not to him but her father. Harry was surprised as she told him that she was an orphan. “Why would she lie to me” He wondered. Friday, 05:30 pm Harry was found dead in his flat. He was stabbed with a knife on which the police found the finger prints of the dead girl which is quite shocking. The last call from Harrys mobile was made to the same number to which the girl made a call before she died. Episode - 2 ....................... Monday 09:40 pm A tall man with untidy attire was standing outside a hotel and observing a couple who were having dinner. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lit one. He was sweating heavily. After a couple of minutes he saw the boy leaving the hotel followed by the girl. 11:45 pm The girl hung up the phone. She was about to sleep and someone knocked at her door. She got frightened as she wasnt expecting anyone so late that night. Tuesday 04:45 pm Harry was so confused and worried. He couldnt figure out who could have killed her. He wondered what exactly was her life before he set his foot in New Delhi. “Who could have killed her and why would she lie to me that she was an orphan?” these are the only two questions haunting him. Harry couldnt stay in his flat. He along with his friend Samar set out to unravel the truth. 10:30 pm The detective was lying on his couch thinking about the murder. He got up to the phone call. He picked it up and the person from the other side conveyed a message which was a new turn in the case. He said that the forensics confirmed that the blood group of the girl and the blood group of the blood on the knife were different. Episode - 3 ...................... Tuesday 07:30 pm The detective called the girl’s father and intimated about his daughter’s death. The girl’s father wept and after sometime the police questioned him. His father didnt say anything that would help the police in solving the case. The girl’s father left the office. 08:00 pm The girl’s father was on his way to the hospital in his car. He got a phone call from someone. After a couple of minutes he pulled over as if someone has asked him to do so. He stepped out of the car, observed the surroundings, started to walk towards a lone street and vanished into the darkness. 10:40 pm “No finger prints! Different Blood group!” the detective was thinking randomly “Harry’s flat, his belongings are all clear. His friend had just arrived in town. The girl’s father is a respectful business man.” He closed his eyes and continued his thought process “If the blood group was different, someone one else was stabbed with that knife. The girl might have fought to defend herself and stabbed the person. But, there are no finger prints on the knife and there is no sign of struggle in the room.” he blew air from his mouth, took a sip of the scotch and lied down. His land line rang and he picked it up. The call was from the officer who is keeping a watch over the crime site. He informed that he caught two boys who were trying to sneak into the girl’s flat. Episode - 4 ........................... As soon as the detective heard those words from the officer he asked him to bring them to the office. The officer has done as instructed. The boys were none other than Harry and Samar. He enquired about their presence around the flat at that point of time. They revealed that they just want to know what exactly happened and what the girl was before Harry met her. The detective asked Harry whether he found anything interesting. Harry said to the officer that the girl never mentioned that she has a father and she lied to him by saying that she was an orphan. After hearing to Harry’s story the detective asked them to leave. Before asking them to leave, the detective said to harry “If you really want to know what happened, help me in solving the case but don’t do anything on your own” and asked them to meet him the next day. Wednesday Dawn Harry woke up to a very bad dream. Someone knocked at his door but when he opened, there was no one. He checked the surroundings and found an envelope at his door step. He opened the envelope and found a letter asking him to meet him at some place at a particular time. The envelope was sent by the girl’s father. Episode - 5 ..................... 08:30 am Harry decided to go and meet her father. Samar told not to go but he didn’t listen to him. After Harry left the flat, Samar called the detective and informed about what happened. -- Out there somewhere a man was informing someone about the call made to the detective by Harry’s friend. The other person who is listening to this said “I’ll take him down too”. The person who was informing said “Not so fast. For now, just warn him” -- 09:30 am The detective reached Harry’s flat and picked him up. They drove off towards the outskirts of the city. As told by Samar, the detective reached the spot where Harry was being instructed to meet the girl’s father. The detective saw no one over there. The detective confirmed with Samar whether it was the right place or not. Samar gave a confident nod. After about 30 minutes they saw Harry walking towards a lone building. They saw him stop at the door step and pulling out his mobile phone. 10:20 am Harry pulled out his mobile and answered the call. It was an unknown number. The caller said “Stay out of this or you will die”. Episode - 6 ....................... The detective and Samar saw Harry step back from the house he was about to enter. They saw him walk a few yards away from the building and then stop. Harry pulled out his mobile and started stabbing buttons. Samar’s phone rang and it was Harry. He threw a glance at the detective and then he picked it up. Harry said all that has happened. Samar listened to him and asked him to come back. The detective came back to Harry’s flat. They were waiting for Harry to arrive. 12:30 pm There was no sign of Harry. Detective wondered where he could have gone. He asked Samar to stay in the Flat and he left. When the detective was about to fire up the engine, he got a call. It was from one of his subordinates. He told that they have found cc TV footage from the camera outside the apartment in which the girl was murdered. They saw a man entering the premises late that night and they said that he was a wanted criminal who is at large. The detective, as soon as he listened to that asked them to track him down. He also specified that there should be another person involved in this crime as they know that the blood group of the blood on the knife is different from the blood group of the girl. Episode - 7 ......................... As soon as the information reached the detective, he left to his office. On the way he saw Harry on his bike. The detective just threw a glance and drove off. The detective reached his office. He informed one of his subordinate that the girl’s father might know something about the murder but he hid it from them. He asked one of the junior officers to come along with him to go and see the girl’s father once. The detective checked the footage and confirmed what he was informed a few minutes back. The detective and the officer left the office. 12:40 pm Harry reached his flat. Samar was there waiting for him. Samar didn’t reveal anything that has happened to him but asked him about what he has told an hour ago. Samar asked Harry whether his father is only the main culprit. But Harry denied as he was warned by someone to stay out of this. Harry said that the girl’s father know something about the murder and he want to share it with him. Harry said “She wanted to say something to on the night I took her for dinner. I think it was about her father!” weeping calmly, he continued “I will never know what she wanted to say.” 1:10 pm The detective reached the girl’s father’s house. He knocked at the door. The old man who was sitting on the couch startled to the sound. He was sweating and still in his black suit. The detective knocked again after a couple of minutes. The old man opened the door and shocked on seeing the officers at his door step. The detective said “Hi sir! How are you?” with a smile he continued “May I speak to you for a moment please?” The old man complied. Episode - 8 ........................ The old man asked them to take a seat. He offered them drinks and asked them what they want from him. The officer briefed everything he heard from Harry’s friend and politely enquired about what the truth was exactly. The old man, being a big shot, always tried to act out in the public but that instant he wanted to say all that he know but he doesnt want to die before the truth comes out. He knows at that moment that as soon as he tries to utter the truth, he was going to die. The detective said “there is nothing to fear, sir” he continued “Not even the officer who is sitting beside me” As soon as the detective said that, the officer pulled out his pistol at once and tried to shoot the old man but even before he pulled out his pistol, the detective shot him in his shoulder and he crashed to the ground. Even in that agony, the officer spoke. He said “We have people everywhere, they won’t . . .” he was about to say something and the detective shot him and he was dead. The old man was in a deep shock and when he surfaced from that after a couple of seconds he asked “How do you know that he was one of them?” The detective said “Yesterday my team informed that they saw this officer conversing with a gangster the night before your daughter was murdered.” Taking a deep breath, he continued “After that I asked them to keep him under observation. After only a few hours the undercover cops who were spying, recorded each and every moment of his in a camcorder, they saw him go to a place he was not supposed to go and talk to a person with whom he was not supposed to talk” with a gap, he continued “a few minutes back I got an mms of that video and I got confirmed that he was with them”. After explaining, the detective sat on the couch and asked “Now, tell me all that you know” Episode - 9 .......................... The old man started narrating “When a leading mining corporation is mining in the Chota Nagpur Plateau, they found an ancient underground bunker. A team has been dispatched to explore the bunker. One of the members of the team found some blue prints in the bunker. As he was so loyal to his teacher and guardian, he decided to take those to him as he assumed them to be useful and valuable. He kept them for himself and reported that he didn’t find anything. He then took the blue prints to his teacher and guardian and explained how he had acquired them.” The detective interrupted and asked “Who is that teacher you were saying?” “We all know him as Dollar” the old man replied. The detective was shocked and said “How could that be possible as he was shot down in Russia long ago.” “No he is alive” the old man said and continued with his narration. “Dollar studied and found an extraordinary piece of information in the blue prints. He then asked his disciple to form a team and asked him not to reveal the truth but lie to them as that was an undercover government research on some new technology. He did as instructed. My daughter was a part of that team and I was the financier for that research.” The old man sighed and continued “Don’t know what happened, Dollar started to take each and every member of the team, one by one” “All I know that the team had built a machine which was hidden somewhere deep underground in the same area where the bunker was found” Episode - 10 ....................... The detective arrested the girl’s father as he was involved in an illegal operation and the police cleared up the mess in the old man’s house. He asked the old man about why he wanted to meet harry. He told that he wanted to tell the truth to Harry as his daughter loved him so much and he deserves to know everything. The detective called Harry and warned him again not to do anything without his notice. Same day (Wednesday) 04:00 pm The detective, in his office was examining all the information he has with him. He was thinking about the murder, the story the old man said, the machine the team secretly built and all the other things which are still not solved. His assumption is that may be on the night the girl was murdered, the girl might have fought back but the area is all set and there is no sign of struggle. The murderer might have murdered two persons with his gloves on. He might have dropped one in the flat with which he murdered the other person of which the detective still don’t know. The different blood group states clearly that there was another person who got injured or who was dead by then. The detective thought “Who might be the other person?” 07:00 pm One of the subordinates of the detective approached him and handed over two photographs which are similar. But the junior officer asked the detective to observe closely. He said that the first photograph was the one already in the flat and the second one is taken by their team after the murder. The detective observed and said that some items were misplaced when compared to the first photograph (Which is already in the flat). The junior officer said that they had deduced, according to what they saw, that there might be some fight and the murderer might have rearranged them neatly again but he failed in placing them as they were supposed to be. The junior officer expressed his doubt “Some items were in their position but the direction they face was different. How could the murderer know where they were supposed to be?” The detective said “May be someone who already knew her flat. Someone who always followed her and kept an eye on what she was doing. Someone who visited her flat a couple of times and observed everything to commit a crime so neatly” The detective suspiciously mumbled “Harry?” Episode - 11 ............................ The detective suspected Harry but he couldnt confirm it because the girl might have so many other friends. He also thought about the team members she worked with. May be they could have visited her flat frequently. But Harry never mentioned about anyone who used to visit her flat but him. He called the Jharkhand police department and informed everything. The Jharkhand police dispatched teams to the mining area to search for the machine. The detective is more concerned about the murder and how was it done. All he could do is follow his gut rather than reasoning. He set out to Harry’s flat to talk to him. Before leaving his office he enquired whether they have found the criminal they saw in the footage. The team reported “Negative”. The detective met Harry personally. He told everything about the girl. The detective told everything all over again to Harry. The murder, the missing finger prints, different blood group, the criminal who is at large, the mining, Dollar and his team and at last he showed him the photographs taken before and after the death of the girl. The detective explained about them and Harry was confused. But then the very next second Harry realized that the detective was suspecting him and he told what happened from the start. Harry said that on Monday the girl told Harry that she wanted to say something and at the same time Harry told about the dinner to her. They went to the restaurant and when the girl was about to tell him something he got a call from his friend Samar. Then he said he had to leave as Samar called him to pick him up from the station. After that harry told that he talked to the girl on phone and the next day afternoon she was found dead. The detective was about to ask something and his phone rang. He picked it up. The officer who called said “Sir, we located the criminal’s position. We are on our way.” The detective hung up and rushed to his office. Episode - 12 ............................. Harry was so confused on listening to the story of his lover. He couldnt believe that she had such a past. He returned to his flat and shared everything with Samar. Samar was also surprised to hear that hell of a story around that girl’s murder. The detective drove with lightning speed and reached his office. He enquired about how they could track him down. They said that right after he left the office they got a call from one of the police stations that a woman filed a complaint that her car was stolen and she also told that she can identify the person as she saw him while stealing the car. The police showed some photographs of which our wanted criminal’s photo was one of them. She quickly identified and they informed them about the whole story. The car has HSNP (High Security Number Plate) so it was easy for them to track him down. The detective asked the lady officer of the criminal’s current position and she said “He is on NH8 sir, the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway” The detective, on seeing the map in front of him, quickly said “Good job”. The detective asked them to make a road block if necessary. He, before taking a seat in front of the map, said “I need confirmation of his identity” the lady officer quickly spoke something in her mouth piece and said “We are on it sir”. -- Out there somewhere a man in a dark, hollow and metallic room is working on a machine which is hovering above the floor. Another man appeared from the darkness and started speaking “Are we ready?” the man who is working said “The brain is still not working sir; I need some time”. The other man looked at him with anger and said “Make it fast” -- Episode - 13 .......................... After quite a chase and a hell lot of firing, they got the criminal. The team arrested him and brought him to the detective’s office. He was a tall man with untidy attire. His face has scars and his build is athletic. The detective with a file in his hand entered the room in which the criminal was put and sat on the chair in front of him who was hand cuffed. The detective said “Mr. Farukh alias Paandu” with a chuckle, the detective continued “a ridiculous name for a notorious criminal like you”. Paandu looked at the detective with a blank expression. The detective, who was smiling a couple of seconds before, stopped and quickly asked him “What were you doing in the girl’s flat the night she was murdered?” Again, there was a blank expression on the criminal’s face. The detective asked “Did you kill the girl?” Paandu replied “I didn’t kill anyone”. The detective said that they have found a knife with blood on it but the blood group is different from the blood group of the girl. The detective asked “Did someone attack you or something; I see you are wounded, am I right?” Paandu replied “I slipped somewhere”. The detective laughed and said “The DNA of the blood on the knife matches with yours my dear, tell me what happened that night.” Paandu looked straight into the detective’s eyes and said “Find the machine. Stop them from doing it.” Episode - 14 ......................... “Stop them from doing what?” the detective asked curiously. “There was this machine Dollar built….” Paandu started to narrate and the detective interrupted and said “I know about him and the machine, but you said stop them from doing it. What exactly the machine was all about?” “Hmmm, remove all the charges on me then I will do whatever you want” Paandu demanded in a harsh tone. The detective stood up by inhaling heavily and said “Charges? Hmmm” the very next second the detective punched in Paandu’s face with lightening force. Paandu toppled along with his chair. Detective raised him violently and grabbed his hair and said “You are here to answer my questions otherwise I am going to shove the hot metal rod up your ass and twist it until I get my answer from you” Paandu is bleeding and shivering. The detective took his seat in front of him and stared at him expecting him to tell everything he knows. Paandu couldnt maintain the eye contact with him but he started to speak “In the bunker, Dollar’s assistant found the blue prints which led us to build a machine. A team of 10 members worked on it. I was a part of that team and they made us believe that it was an undercover government project. I wanted to start a new life leaving behind everything I have done in my past. I had no idea at first that it was a plan of Dollar. We worked and built it and then me and the girl, while studying the Machine and the chemicals we used we confirmed that it was a bio-weapon. At first we thought it to be a dummy and won’t work but when we tested keeping the machine to its lowest power, it gave us shock waves. As soon as we triggered it, it sent some foul liquid into the ground and polluted it. We had no idea what it did but when we observed the area on which we tested, there was cracked land and all the insects and living things that dwelled inside were dead. The very next day the girl planted a seed in the ground and it didn’t grow into a plant. We waited and waited but no result. After few days we began falling sick and becoming weak. The girl studied and said that it was a result of that machine and we should destroy it. We informed all the team members along with Dollar’s assistant. But who knew that some of us will face death for revolting against Dollar. Me, the girl and a couple of team members opposed to the idea of putting the machine to work. Dollar denied and asked them to leave quietly and asked the remaining to stay. But he hunted us down on by one. But I managed to escape” With a gap he said “I think the girl deactivated the machine before she left and they got pissed. Recently I came to know that they are almost done in making it work again.” “If it’s done, we are dead officer” Paandu wiped the blood off his nose. Episode - 15 .......................... “We have informed the Jharkhand police, they dispatched teams to search all over the Chota Nagpur plateau” said the detective. Paandu said “Jharkhand? Who said the machine is in Jharkhand? They have moved it from there long back my dear officer.” The detective asked “Moved it where?” “Madhya Pradesh, somewhere in the Bhil tribe region” Paandu said. The detective asked “Why there?” Paandu said “I don’t know. But if they keep the machine to its full power, India would be extinct in a few months.” The moment he heard those words, the detective ordered his sub ordinates to inform this to the Jharkhand police and as well as to the MP police ASAP. The detective asked Paandu “Can you recognize the one who attacked you?” “No he was wearing a mask while he attacked me first time and I managed to escape. Then I thought he would be going after the girl. So I decided to go watch over her. I saw her leaving the flat with a guy on a bike. I followed them and they went to a restaurant. They were dining and after sometime I saw the boy leave the place followed by the girl. I followed her to the flat. I checked the surroundings for a lot of time, the backyard, the parking and then I saw someone entering into balcony of the girl’s flat. As soon as I saw that, I rushed. I reached her flat and started knocking at her door.” --- Monday 11:45 pm The girl hung up the phone. She was about to sleep and someone knocked at her door. She got frightened as she wasnt expecting anyone so late that night. She walked slowly towards the hall and switched on the lights. Before going to open the door, she walked into the kitchen and grabbed a knife as she knew that she was in danger. She reached the door and peeped through the magic eye. She got relieved on seeing Paandu outside the door. Her heart beat slowed down but out there he was continuously knocking. She wondered what on earth he was doing outside her flat at this point of time. As soon as she opened the door, Paandu rushed into her flat saying “Someone entered into your flat through the balcony”. The girl asked “What! Who is there?” Paandu who is sweating, nervous and in a lot of haste in checking the rooms said “Dollar is hunting us down, someone attacked me yesterday and he is after you now.” The girl said “There is no one in the flat”. “No I saw someone entering into your flat” saying that, Paandu said “The dining room’s door is open, do you always keep this door open?” The girl’s face expressions changed and she said “No!” she started stepping back and then suddenly out of nowhere a man with a mask stabbed Paandu from behind. Paandu resisted and threw him away. He crashed into something which is quite not visible in the dark. Paandu, out of that searing pain, crashed to the ground. --- “I couldnt stand up at that moment. I saw the man go after the girl. She struggled to fight him but she failed. I saw him stabbing her and she crashed a few feet away from me. I fell unconscious for a few minutes then I woke up. I checked whether she is alive or not. She was dead. I couldnt do anything at that time so I left the flat.” Paandu said. Episode - 16 ........................... The detective left the room when Paandu was done telling what happened that night. He reached his office and one of his sub ordinates asked him “Sir? Any lead?” the detective shook his head and said “No but one thing is clear, that the girl was stabbed with another knife” and giggled. The detective asked his team whether they have informed the MP police or not. They said that they did and swat teams are on their way. The detective couldn’t figure out who could have committed the murder. He felt helpless and dejected. -- Amid the bhil tribal area, the person who is working on the machine smiled and said to himself “You are a goddamn genius” and lifted up a lever after which a rumbling sound echoed all over the metal room. Listening to that a man suddenly appeared from the darkness and said by pulling out a pistol from his jacket “Shall I consider it done or you need more time?” -- Thursday Dawn Swat teams reached the tribal area with guns and ammo. They were laying strategies to break into the facility but the whereabouts of which were still unknown. 07:30 am The officer who is in charge of the operation in Madhya Pradesh made a phone call to the detective saying that they were unable to find the machine and they need some help. The detective said that they have this guy who worked on it in the past. The officer asked the detective to bring him ASAP.
