Has anyone watched how to take off gloves after taking care of a Ebola patient? If infection control or CDC cant see , after taking off your first glove, you then slip your exposed hand behind your other glove to remove it! Remember Ebola patients are vomiting, we the nurses are cleaning them. Are you telling me only my hands get soiled? Humm so I then reach under the second glove, right at that point my wrist has the protective gown on likely soiled from cleaning this patient! How about the CDC or infection control person take my closes off!!!! No!! how about you get me a one piece cover from head to toe with a built in shield and have a decontamination room set up to shower after!!!! I guess we can say, well Ebola wouldnt be as bad here, because US knows how to isolate this infection. Really!!! Now 2 nurses have Ebola after taking care of 1 patient. OK, let:s back up, why do hospitals have so many hospital acquired diseases? Is that because were so good with infection control and isolation. I day all those upper educated people better pull their egos out and get them checked. Start being smart and care as if they are the worker at the bedside, or that their mother or child has Ebola!!!! Us, Im concerned........ No this mass hysteria has been caused to us not being prepared.
