Has it occurred to anyone that this business with the ice-buckets is in fact counter-productive from the perspective of the ALS Association? It appears that most people, whether out of greed, inability to pay, or the need to demonstrate that they can in fact survive being doused in cold water, have decided to take that route as opposed to actually supporting the foundation? That being the case, there is every incentive *not* to donate, essentially defeating the purpose of this entire campaign. Perhaps we should either a) lower the donation amount, b) increase the danger of the stunt to be performed or c) provide some sort of reward for donating (think NPR tote bags / NRA range bags). Just my two cents.
