~Hasten to Break the Fast~ The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: The people will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast. [Jami at-Tirmidhi - sahih hadith] Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, Allah the Most High says: `From amongst my slaves, the quicker the one is in breaking the Saum (fasting), the dearer is he to me. [At-Tirmidhi] Commentary: With the certainty of the setting of the sun, the fasting person should break their fast without delay or hesitation. This is a sign of being on the rightly guided sunnah (path/example) of Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam).
