Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I must as always speak what God has placed in my Spirit. The man of God; noticed something was wrong by searching the word of God. He found out through the word of God that Israel was operating under a curse; a curse that God himself had place on them for 70 years due to their disobedience. You see, maybe everybody else thought all was well; like we all expect or think it will be in this new year, but all was not well. The people had just had accepted the curse as their normal life. If we dont get in the face of God in prayer and through his word and notice something is wrong then we cannot change it; but through default we then accept it. But Daniel didnt do that. He say the curse that was pronounce; notice that it was really happening around him and his people; then he took action. You know the story. He got on his face before the Lord to agree with God that there was indeed a curse in full operation. He took action further and took responsibility for his actions as sin and for the actions of his ancestors. He began to plead with the Lord for change. You see there can never be a change in your current or upcoming New Year unless you and I can first notice that there is something really wrong; we have got to acknowledge our faults, shortcoming and failures unto God and then be willing to put on sackclothe and ashes in a moment of sorrow true Godly sorrow in hopes that the Father would hear and answer our prayer. Put the point is not to focus on the curse being removed so much; but to focus on God changing the our innerman; the ways that of prolonged disobedience that cause the curse to come in the first place. Once we truly allow God to change our hearts; then the blessings of the New Year and future blessings will then flow again. Scripture Text: DANIEL 9:4-14 I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: ....We have rebelled against you and scorned your command and regulations.......we have refused to listen to your servants the prophets........Lord you are in the right; but we as you see, our faces are covered with shame......O Lord, we and our kings and princes, and ancestors are covered with shame because we have sinned against you.........All Israel/AMERICA has disobeyed instructions and turned away, refusing to listen to your voice.....So now the solemn curses and judgment written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured down on us because of our sin......Every curse written against us in the Law of Moses has come true (then and now in our lives and in America as well) Yet we have refused to seek mercy from the Lord our God by TURNING FROM OUR SINS AND RECOGNIZING HIS TRUTHS. (Not just the sins of commissions; but we have sinned against God by omitting to do somethings. Thats were we sometimes miss it. Or maybe we have things that are our addictions that we spend more time with than with God.) Therefore, states Daniel the Lord, (not satan, but the Lord) has brought UPON US THE DISASTER HE PREPARED. Saints see this if you can recognize that something is wrong like Daniel recognized then you/we can as a people go to God and began to really, really, REALLY seek for some changes. I mean noticeable changes. You see, when God does change things and remove these curses there is going to be a major significant difference in our lives. That is what it takes to truly bring his name glory; a people who is repentant and obedient. Let this word sink into your Spirit and let it be a rule of thumb to guide you safely in this New Year. You can never go wrong with a repentant and changed heart. (Ask the Holy Spirit to show you all the areas of you life that is hidden to you, that displeases God.
