Hate to burst anyones bubble but this super moon monicker is laughable... What youre looking at is the moon in perigee... The moon following its elliptical path is only about 50,000 km closer than its normal 384,400 km making it appear only about 14% brighter and about 30% bigger. We have 3 perigee moons this year. Its really not that super, its a full moon and its big, bright and beautiful... Im sure if you catch the moonrise on the horizon on any clear night of a full moon you will think its the biggest the moon has ever appeared. 14% is barely discernible to the average person. Its barely noticeable to me and Ive been stargazing most of my life. By all means, get out there and stargaze, moongaze, experience the vastness that is our little view the universe... But please stop sharing memes about how super the moon is going to be. I assure you, its as ordinarily spectacular as it is any other full moon phase. Sincerely, Your Local Space Cadet
