Have I set myself up for failure? A brief history of how I got - TopicsExpress

Have I set myself up for failure? A brief history of how I got myself into this jam. I was Forman on a pretty good size construction job in Florida. We had subcontracted the lift station out to Pipeline, a huge utility company here. I became friends with their superintendent Carl was his name. One day he informs me that the company is growing so fast that they want to hire another Super for his area. He tells me he is running 15 jobs and they want to split that in half with another super.. After a lengthy interview process I got the job. Bittersweetly I said goodbye to the company I had done pretty well with for the last couple of years. Okay heres where the trouble begins. The first week I spend in the office. My job was to analyze the 15 jobs that Carl had for Loss and Profitpotential. My findings were as follow. 5 of the jobs had potential for huge profit. 2 jobs were going to bring in a minimal profit. We will call these the 7 good jobs. Of the remaining 8 jobs only 1 had a chance to break even, five were going to be a pretty good loss, and 2 jobs the company is going to wish they never had. Well I presented my profit analysis to Carl and I really do not think he was surprised by my findings. Heres my heartache. Yesterday they give me my Job List,,, low and behold I got all 8 of the jobs that were on the bottom of the income potential analysis I had done for Carl. I am trying to keep my cool, but I feel like I have been set up.. Cant even sleep...
