Have Mercy on us, we only tried to do what many others have done before us. Many years back we adopted Zach a 7 year old mutt from an NO Kill shelter near Omaha. He had a Ad in the newspaper that touched our hearts. When I arrived for my appointment, I noticed how suspicious the Shelter owners were of me. After a 2 week wait and a home visit we were able to adopt Zach for a $250.00 fee. Over the next year we had several more follow-up home visits and grew to understand more about NO Kill, and the difficulty involved in dealings with People/Humans. Today, Zach turns 15. Sometimes we still send pictures of him to his Saviors at the NO Kill shelter. When we made the decision to try to help the Dogs of this community it was sincere. It was obvious we had become outcasts for it and the values we share of the experience. We are not good at simply cleaning up Human waste without speaking toward those that create it. We have and do not receive any assistance from any Government Agency. We are funded out of pocket, and have less than 5 regular donors who contribute as they wish. We give the bulk of the operating costs to the Shelter we built. Our monthly expense ranges in the $2,500-$4,000. depending on Vet bills which can break us at times. Our time has ran out, our resources have dried up. Now I am pending a legal battle for my freedom, for making People/Humans aware of a murderous thug of Dogs. For that the Government will participate. No money for dogs, but plenty to convict those who protect them. We would like to tell you, Thank you, but most of you are not deserving of gratitude. However there are those who we will always be indebted, You know who you are and you know who we are. Over the next months the Ladonia Shelter will be closing for good. That will please many of this community. The Ladonia Shelter is the last NO Kill Shelter operating in the 4 County area, although many small rescues fight on, we will not. We have grown tired of you People/Humans. You, People/Humans can not be helped,,, Just like the fine People who adopted Zach to us 8 years ago warned me. Glen
