Have just checked guideline and have copied uniform section 1.5 Uniform Financial members wear uniform to create a sense of unity and to identify them as Guides. A variety of uniform options is available (refer Uniform Information Booklet). Guides should decide the best option(s) for their Unit. Girl choice is the fundamental basis for uniform selection, provided it is appropriate for the occasion. Uniform is to be worn to all Guide activities. A Guide activity is one that is held in the name of Guiding at local, Division/Region, State, Australian or international level. However members may wear casual attire (including non-uniform items with Guide logo) for some activities, such as camping, abseiling, canoeing, as the organisers deem appropriate. Members travel to and from events, including Division/Region, State, Australian and international events, in uniform unless wearing uniform is considered inappropriate. No member should be discriminated against on the basis of uniform. However, for some activities, the organisers, District, Division/Region, State Girl Guide Organisation or Girl Guides Australia may require specific uniform items to ensure appropriateness for the occasion, such as ANZAC Day, presentations. Therefore the formation of a clothing pool locally, regionally and/or State wide is encouraged. When in uniform, members will wear as their lower garment an item of length and style appropriate to the occasion. The item shall be navy blue in colour or made of blue denim. No item of clothing shall be ripped nor appear badly faded. For those people stating that it is against guide lines - scarves are not mentioned - the only place I have read this is in the FAQ section where it tells me to check guidelines So I am sorry but i am not breaking guidelines - this has been recently updated and therefore if it is illegal to wear a scarf then it should be stated Also - i note the following -Financial members wear uniform to create a sense of unity and to identify them as Guides. A variety of uniform options is available. Guides should decide the best option(s) for their Unit. Girl choice is the fundamental basis for uniform selection, provided it is appropriate for the occasion. So I believe that i am following the above - my girls chose the colours and 17/17 voted to keep them - they have been offered the choice
