Have you ever heard the phrase... you can tell a persons age by looking at their hands? Well, that isnt always true. If you really take care of your hands, your hands may look younger thank your biological age. If you take very poor care of your hands, they may look older than your biological age. Here are some tips to keep your hands looking beautiful and keep people guessing... - Wear gloves! when doing dishes and using household cleaning products. Detergents and other cleaning products can really dry out your skin, leaving your hands looking scaly or wrinkly looking and feeling rough. Protect your hands from the harsh ingredients by wearing gloves. - Exfoliate! a few times a week with a hand scrub. We are using our hands all the time, it is quite easy for them to become dry and just like the rest of our body, dead skin needs to be removed. Once dead skin is removed, it reveals soft, new, young skin underneath. - Moisturise! every day.. morning and night is great and if you can do it in the middle of the day, thats even better! If you are a little forgetful, carry one in your hand bag and leave one on your bedside table to remind yourself! - Wear sunscreen! everyday. We should be wearing sunscreen on our face and body every day, regardless of the season. But think about your hands when you are driving, they are exposed to sun when they are on the steering wheel. The uv rays of the sun are so powerful, they cause premature aging, drying of the skin, sun spots and not to mention skin cancer... that includes on your hands! EXTRA OPTIONS... - Hand mask! Just like face masks, hand masks are available. You can by them or make your own. They work great if you apply the mask and wrap with glad wrap and leave it on for about 10 minutes. The glad wrap can cause a little heat, allowing the mask to penetrate your hands better. Hand masks help to give some extra moisturising, once to twice a week is good. - Microdermabrasion! This is a bonus option if you are really serious about keeping your hands beautiful. It can be pricey, but it is a wonderful treatment. A machine with a diamond/crystal incrusted head, scrapes the dead skin off your hands and sucks it up into the machine. It may sound painful or invasive but it isnt at all. It has excellent results!
