Have you ever wondered if and how fish sleep? They do not have eyelids so how can they close their eyes. In fact fish do sleep – they enter a daydream state while resting, with their eyes open. Their fins keep moving while sleeping to ensure they get the oxygen they need. Some fish wriggle into soft mud or slip into crevices when they need to take a nap except for some species of parrotfish, which make its own sleeping bag. They secrete a transparent jelly-like mucous around themselves for dozing off to presumably hid their scent from potential predators. landmarknews/interesting-animal-facts/
